Rainwater By Sandra Brown

Happy Friday! Giant Date is always here to give you tips on how to meet wealthy men, but we also want to share our favorite novels with you as well and as always we want to hear your opinions.

Today we start off with Rainwater by Sandra Brown. I give this book a Ten. Rainwater is not a typical Sandra Brown novel at all. It is not your typical romantic thriller, there are no breakup to makeup, and shockingly it hardly contains any explicit sex. Bummer. There is a flip-side.

The novel takes place in 1934 Texas.  There is an economic depression going on and racism is obviously ongoing and you follow the journey of two lovers who teach each other to live and love at any cost. The main characters will stay with you long after you’ve read the book. It’s a very emotional read so have your tissues ready!

A Breath Of Snow And Ashes By Diana Gabaldon

I was one of those many readers who loved the first four books but was harshly critical of The Fiery Cross, her fifth book. This book is funny, moving, inciteful, and full of adventure. It has great character studies. Bree and Roger finally come into their own in this book.

Could the book have been shorter? Maybe. There were certainly times where I thought a certain digression wasn’t really necessary to the story, but Ms. Gabaldon is such an excellent story teller that I didn’t really mind.

Share with us in our comments section below if you have read A Breath Of Snow And Ashes and keep coming back for more. We have so much in store for you in 2011!
